Shetland’s athletes continued to brave the windy weather on Sunday, competing in the Jamieson’s of Shetland sponsored Open Graded Meeting at the Clickimin Track.  In total 29 athletes put in 56 performances in conditions which saw the use of the second long jump pit for the first time in competition this year.

SAAC Chairwoman Elaine Park commented, “This was the final OGM for the season and the athletes had to work particularly hard to record these performances with some very strong wind readings impacting their efforts.  Despite this many athletes recorded personal bests and it was another example of the useful and developmental nature of these meets.  The Club would like to thank the event sponsors, Jamieson’s of Shetland, the coaches who put in tireless hours in to training and all of our officials who support the athletes by giving up their time to enable them to compete at home.”
